Mr.K.D. Ranasinghe is an Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He joined the Central Bank in 1986 and has served in several departments of the Bank including the Economic Research Department as Director. He served as the Alternate Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C., USA representing the constituency of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka from 2012 to 2015. He obtained his Masters Degree in Economics from the Michigan State University, USA and Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo. His research interests are in the areas of public finance, economic growth and economic and social infrastructure. Prior to joining the Central Bank he was in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, and had also worked as a lecturer at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
